At the end of the exhibition "Einfach GEORGES - Mit Blick auf Umwelt und Natur" (Simply GEORGES - With a view of the environment and nature), there will be another special opportunity to discover the works in person with the artist Werner Georges on Thursday, January 29, 2026. From 1.30 p.m., the University Library on Campus Bernburg invites you to the finissage with an artist talk and tour.
After a brief welcome by representatives of the university, Werner Georges will give an insight into his artistic work. During the talk, he will explain his working methods, talk about the motifs and backgrounds of the exhibited works and answer visitors' questions. On request, the artist will give a personal tour of the exhibition.
Werner Georges' works are characterized by the diversity and beauty of nature, but also address its vulnerability and the consequences of human actions. Motifs such as dried soil or dead trees as well as incorporated materials such as straw or tree bark make environmental changes visible. The artist works with various techniques, including acrylic and oil paintings as well as the "Quadrolinos" he developed, a special combination of drawing and collage.
