Prof. Dr. Marion Pause

Marion Pause studied geodesy at TU Dresden and earned her Ph.D. in 2011 from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in the field of multisensory remote sensing. Her scientific and practical work focuses on data acquisition and analysis using imaging technologies in photogrammetry and remote sensing. In cooperation with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig, she has carried out numerous aerial and field campaigns. Together with Prof. Dr. Uwe Knauer, she coordinates airborne campaigns and research projects using the university’s own remote sensing sensors.

Her personal interest and professional focus lie in application development for observation-based support of climate adaptation tasks in landscapes and urban areas. Ms. Pause has supervised various R&D projects during her time at the engineering firm, and her academic career is summarized on the ORCID portal: orcid.org/0000-0002-3836-2723.

She enjoys teaching, has training in university pedagogy, and has experience with a variety of teaching and learning concepts. In her free time, she is active in environmental education and landscape conservation and serves as chair of the Altenhainer Heimatverein e.V.
