The degree program
Naturopathy is an extremely old science and perhaps for this very reason it is becoming more and more popular in our fast-moving times. It is based on fundamental medical contexts, but combines these with the aid of psychosocial aspects and natural active ingredients from plants and foods, for example, to form a very holistic view of the human being.
The bachelor's degree program in naturopathy aims to enable professionals, primarily from the nursing and therapeutic fields, to treat their patients using a holistic naturophathic approach.
To this end, the degree program imparts comprehensive allopathic medical basics, psychosocial and methodological skills as well as the ability to deal with classical naturopathic applications in a scientifically sound manner. The degree program paves the way for graduates to become responsible therapists at the interface between medicine and naturopathy, who are aware of the limits and dangers of naturopathic procedures, and who can implement effective therapy methods appropriate for a specific target group and situation.
Graduates will be in a position to complement allopathic medical treatments with effective aspects of naturopathy, such as nutrition, botany and communication, to develop safe treatment strategies in this field and to implement them successfully with the appropriate permission (e.g. Heilpraktikererlaubnis). With a bachelor's degree in naturopathy, graduates will be able to work in a steadily growing market for holistic therapies complementary to allopathic medicine, or devote themselves to teaching or research. At the same time, the degree program offers comprehensive preparation for the examination and certification according to the Heilpraktikergesetz. Following the course, graduates who have successfully passed the examination can practice medicine in accordance with the Heilpraktikergesetz (Heilpraktiker Act).
