Learning objectives
While education in the technical media field is usually purely application-oriented and practice-based, this master's degree program trains graduates with a distinctive double profile. The program benefits from both forms of German higher education: By teaching theoretical and practical knowledge in interactive digital media and its applications, the program enables graduates to recognize problems related to technology and communication. They also learn to apply scientific methods and findings in an interdisciplinary manner. The goal is to professionally implement innovative and complex projects in an interactive manner over online media.
To achieve this, students will acquire theoretical/scientific knowledge in the areas of image processing, pattern recognition and algorithm engineering, subjects which are covered through the expertise of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. This knowledge will allow students to understand the details and background of application-based modules in order to address them in the most efficient and perhaps unconventional ways. These modules are offered by the Department of Computer Science and Languages at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, which has a long history of successful application-based education. Theory and practice are always coordinated to take advantage of important synergies and to convey content in an exemplary manner.
Graduates will acquire specialist knowledge in the conception, development and front-end design of interactive media systems. The program offers a strong focus on projects and includes a wide range of in-depth classes, combining practical elements and theory at a high level. This includes both the classical interactive telecommunications media and new interfaces and technologies for capturing human gestures and behavior patterns as well as their use in the context of practical applications in social networks, computer games or daily life.
In addition to practical orientation, there is a focus on independent work, a systematic approach and the development of communicative skills. The degree program has both a scientific and application orientation. Graduates will be qualified to take on challenging management tasks in digital media and will also be qualified to work towards a doctoral degree.
