Tasks and fields of activity:

  • In vitro culture of sterile plants, tissue cultures, callus cultures, regeneration
  • Studies to promote nutrient uptake and plant growth
  • Testing of plant growth-promoting microorganisms
  • Detection of “systemic induced resistance”, monitoring of resistance gene activities
  • Variety testing, variety determination, pathogen diagnostics
  • Studies on plant roots affected by Agrobacterium rhizogenes

Technical equipment:

Greenhouses that can be used year round, fully automated climate chambers and climate cabinets, sterile safety cabinets, shaking and rocking incubators, bubble columns and stirred-tank bioreactors for microorganisms, protein and DNA extraction, SDS-PAGE and agarose gel electrophoresis, high-resolution microscopes and fluorescence microscopy
