Halyna

I am very grateful to the teachers and students here because they have shown that studying can bring more pleasure than it seems.

My name is Halyna. I studied cybersecurity at Kyiv one of Kyiv’s Universities. After the start of the war in Ukraine, I arrived in Köthen and now study Digital Media at Anhalt University. Over the past year, my life has turned upside down. It was my first time abroad and 2 weeks of traveling gave me incredible inspiration. Such a change in circumstances allowed me to finally breathe out and sleep peacefully.

During the first semester, I noticed it was easier for me to understand the structure of studying here; it was very interesting, although I had to put more effort into understanding the subject. I'm no longer participating in the "young scientist" marathon, I'm finally teaching myself. And this is what I lacked. In Köthen I can finally rest from the noisy and always worried life in Kyiv. I am in love with my native city, but its houses and rhythm of life are sometimes too intense and here I can take my short breaks.

My goal now is to study the field that pleases me and become an expert in it. My dream would be to transfer some teaching techniques to Ukraine. Therefore, if Ukrainian students are interested in how they can study differently, I would recommend that they unequivocally choose to study abroad, where they believe their abilities would be revealed and where they would be helped to develop their potential.

This month, I started receiving Fit4Ukraine scholarship from DAAD. I am very happy because it allows me to delve into the topic of blockchain security, which, in my opinion, is now greatly despised, considering the existing consensus models as a panacea. With this funding, I am finally able to access some audits and courses to expand my knowledge. Therefore, I want to thank DAAD and Hochschule Anhalt for giving me the opportunity to live and study in Germany, it's an invaluable experience that, as I said, changed my life dramatically.

Here I have a second chance to develop my abilities and grasp what is close to my heart.
