I also had little experience with other cultures, having spent most of my life in Ukraine. However, these fears quickly disappeared when I met a lot of international students on Campus.
I came from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. I studied there at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and now I’m a student of a Double-Degree Master's program of Data Science at HS Anhalt.
Most of my colleagues speak good English, so I can always find support from them. On the other hand, we have a community where we practice our German together, which makes our integration easier.
I am now deeply immersed in my studies and am currently working on my Master’s thesis. The scholarship I received was a huge help, allowing me to fully focus on my studies without the added stress of financial concerns.
This experience has been transformative for me and I am confident that the knowledge and skills I gain here will have a significant impact on my future career, allowing me to make a significant contribution to the data science field and hopefully to my home country.
When I came to Germany, I was worried about the language barrier. I had just started learning German and couldn't speak it well.
