I would advise other students to be open to change. They can be intimidating at first, but they can certainly open up new possibilities.
My name is Yuliia - I come from a small town in the northern part of Ukraine - Pryluky. I studied Finance at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. Due to the partnership program between our Universities, I had a great opportunity to come to HS Anhalt as per Erasmus+ program. After a semester of excellent experience, I decided to continue my study here at a Master's degree in International Trade continuing to deepen my knowledge about the international markets and improve my language skills.
I forgot how comforting it is to feel safe in the place you live and to have constant electricity in the house. Being in permanent stress you forget about the normal routine you had before. After a year in Germany, I think I finally calmed down a little, although I still get shivers from the sound of children's firecrackers in the park.
I am grateful for Germany's hospitality and hope that one day my German friends will be able to visit Ukraine to see the beauty of this country and the kindness of its people. This is the idea of my project: to support people's aspirations to discover Ukraine through national experience.
Before I came to Germany, I didn't fully realize how much the war had affected my mental health. I forgot how nice it is to sleep in peace.
