Music and dancing on three stages at the Bernburg Monastery

Traditionally, Anhalt University’s Monastery Festival takes place at the Bernburg Monastery. The festival, which is organized by Anhalt University staff and students, offers many types of music, plays, dancing, and entertainment for young and old. Sponsors and clubs help out to make sure the festival is a big success.

Starting at 4:00 pm, bands and stage performers provide a diverse program at different locations in the monastery. Booths for children offer craft projects, a bouncy castle and face painting.

All friends of the Monastery Festival are warmly invited to join in. A special schedule for public transportation in Bernburg applies for the day: those coming to the party can leave their cars at home.

Student art exhibition "Grün" by weissraum

weissraum is a student collective that organizes exhibitions. It is important for us to have a local connection and to bring together students and locals: we give them a chance to show their work (art and design) and exchange ideas about it. We are a group of dedicated design students who take care of planning and curation, as well as a network of helping hands to assist with implementation. For the past two years, this has been happening in the form of regular open calls and exhibitions. We have already collaborated with the Kunstverein Dessau, the Schillig (event space in Dessau, founded by students) and the university.
