Food technology of days gone by
The food history collection at the Berburg Strenzfeld campus vividly combines various disciplines. From food production to engineering and history, visitors can learn a lot about the production of food here. As a teaching collection for students, pupils and the interested public, it is possible to visit the exhibition and take a guided tour to learn about the technology from days gone by, some of which is still used today in the same or similar ways in food production.

Contents
Taster lecture 45 min to introduce a topic to be agreed, e.g. new technologies in food production:
- Digitalization and robotization or
- 3D printing of food or
- sustainability in food production, etc.
Or on specific products or product groups
- Meat and its alternatives
- New developments in dairy products
- Fish as food
- Salt in food production
Guided tour of the food history exhibition.
Insights into today's food production with visits to selected laboratories, such as the:
- Sensory laboratory or
- Food technology laboratory (analysis with physical methods) or
- Technical center for meat and delicatessen.
You should have these prerequisites:
- Pupil at a grammar school, technical secondary school or grammar school branch of a comprehensive school
- Grade 10 and higher
