On November 1, 2023, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences awarded 41 students with a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship for their special coursework. At the award ceremony in the Köthen Castle event center, the sponsoring companies and institutions met their scholarship holders for the first time and had the opportunity to get to know each other.
The 41 students from seven different departments will receive financial support of 300 euros per month from the winter semester 2023/2024. This year, 32 companies and institutions have agreed to provide talented students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences with a scholarship for one year to give them valuable freedom to concentrate on further top achievements or social commitment alongside their studies. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has been awarding this scholarship, which is funded in equal parts by the federal government and private sponsors, since 2011.
Köthen Castle opened at 2 p.m. for the sponsors and their scholarship holders to get to know each other. The more than 120 people in the Johann Sebastian Bach Hall were in an exuberant mood. There was a lot of talk and exchange about career opportunities during and after their studies.
Professor Hans-Jürgen Kaftan, Vice President for Studies, Teaching and Continuing Education, then welcomed the guests, leading into the ceremony and the keynote speech by Manuela Münch. The Managing Director of Sonotec GmbH from Halle runs a second-generation family business together with her brother. As the HR manager of more than 200 employees, she spoke about her personal challenges and encouraged the students to trust in their own growth potential and find their own path.
The Deans and professors of the Departments then presented the certificates to the sponsors and scholarship holders. After the end of the official part, the guests had the opportunity to chat in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the ceremony.
