The HIT is the ideal opportunity for prospective students, parents and anyone who is curious: Once a year, the university opens its doors. The campus can be explored, degree programs can be learned about and laboratories can be visited. The offer ranges from Technology and IT to Biosciences, Food Technology, Engineering and Management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Languages to interdisciplinary degree programs such as Applied Biosciences or Life Sciences Engineering.

This year, there will once again be a company mile for dual degree programs. Regional practice partners present themselves with stands, projects and personal contacts and provide information about opportunities to combine study and practice. Whether Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or Biotechnology: anyone interested in a dual or cooperative study program will find valuable contacts here.

There is also plenty to discover away from the company mile: In the Ratke Building, the Department of Computer Science and Languages presents student game projects in the Games Lounge, invites you to build apps with the App Inventor and shows how emotion tracking works. The focus is also on smart assistants between innovation and data security. In the field of Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, visitors can expect highlights such as "NextGen Medicine - Discover what's inside you", a hands-on camera test, VR labs and insights into analog and digital electronics. Automation and robotics at the interface to artificial intelligence will also be presented here.

Biotechnology opens its doors in the Grünes Gebäude (Building 02 - Köthen) with experiments on fluid mechanics and stirring technology, advice on career-integrated programs and the rapid identification of microorganisms using mass spectrometry. The Department thus offers exciting insights into research into health, food quality and biotechnological processes. Mechanical Engineering invites visitors with a quiz on Economics and Technology, specialist advice on all study options, tearing tests on machine elements and insights into Computer Aided Manufacturing. From CNC programming to energy consumption measurement, there will be demonstrations of what can be expected in a degree course.

In addition to guided tours, experiments and hands-on technology, the HIT offers comprehensive study advice on all study formats, both regular, dual and part-time. Professors, staff and students are available to answer questions about content, applications, accommodation and scholarships. The student union, health insurance companies and housing companies will also be on site.

Free shuttle buses connect the various locations and make it easy to visit all the halls and laboratories.
