The start of studies can be associated with a certain amount of uncertainty for first-year students in the subjects of mathematics and physics. As part of the Institute for Medicine & Technology e.V., Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is offering preparatory courses in both subjects in August 2025. The courses are designed to make it easier to start studying and close any gaps in knowledge in the fields of mathematics and physics.
In the compact mathematics course, participants have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of elementary mathematics, number sequences, functions as well as integral and differential calculus in a total of 28 lessons over five days. It is aimed at first-year students from all disciplines who would like to refresh and deepen their knowledge of mathematics. This course takes place from August 18 to 22, 2025.
The compact course in physics takes place from August 25 to August 29, 2025 and is important for degree programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Food Technology. Experience has shown that many first-year students need a quick refresher course in physics. In 28 lessons, central physical concepts such as motion, forces, energy, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, optics, vibrations, waves and atomic physics are covered.
The preparatory courses are not only open to students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, but also to students at other colleges or universities and anyone interested in refreshing their knowledge for a professional qualification. Both compact courses take place at Campus Köthen. Participants will receive more detailed information on the location and start of the courses as well as accommodation options in Köthen after registration.
The compact courses are free of charge. Registration by e-mail is required by August 10, 2025.
