Congratulations to Julius Brinken on successfully defending his dissertation at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences!
On October 2, 2026, he presented his dissertation, titled “Referenzmodell für Nachhaltigkeitsmaßnahmen in der Agrarlogistik” and impressed the examination committee.
The reference model he developed helps farms systematically classify sustainability measures, assess their impact on emissions, and, based on this, make informed choices for their own operations. In this way, the dissertation bridges the gap between scientific methodology and practical decision support.
The dissertation was written as a cumulative work and builds upon several scientific publications in which Julius Brinken addressed the individual components of systematization, quantification, and implementation.
The examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Gunnar Mau (Chair), Prof. Dr. Hartmut Zadek (Reviewer), Prof. Dr. Dirk Sackmann (Reviewer), Prof. Dr. Fabian Behrendt (Advisor), Prof. Dr. Sebastian Trojahn (Advisor), and Prof. Dr. Daniel Michelis (Discussant).
