November saw the launch of the mFUND project "IBATOUR", funded by the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport – the project consortium has now held its first successful meeting.
Over a period of 33 months, the project partners – AGCO Corporation Hohenmölsen GmbH, Wegard GmbH, Innok Robotics, FIAtec GmbH, the Institute for Automation and Communication, and Dögel GmbH – are jointly developing an innovative solution for the autonomous transport of goods and people in outdoor environments.
At the heart of the project is the development of an autonomous, electric-powered outdoor shuttle system that is integrated into a smart infrastructure. The fleet of vehicles is monitored and remotely controlled from a central operations centre, with the aim of setting new standards in logistics and mobility technology.
The project is being supported academically by Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
The consortium brings together expertise in automotive engineering, robotics, digitalisation and research, and, through IBATOUR, is providing a forward-looking impetus for the smart mobility of tomorrow.
