Under the motto "Young, colorful and innovative", Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is presenting a diverse hands-on program at Saxony-Anhalt Day in Bernburg's Wachgasse from 5 to 7 June 2026. Curious about solar energy? Fancy real conversations with researchers? In the creative workshop of the German Rectors' Conference, the "Science - and me?!" format brings together what belongs together: people with questions and researchers with answers. Whether major future topics or very practical everyday questions: Anhalt University of Applied Sciences makes science tangible here.
How is the sun powered, how does a balcony power plant work? What is agrivoltaics all about? And can solar systems supply energy and protect nature at the same time? Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is showcasing innovative solutions from its new Agri-PV Saxony-Anhalt research center. Anyone who has always wanted to know how to measure solar radiation or how different solar modules work can experience and try out everything up close here.
Another project is less sunny and more wooded and shady. It focuses on the condition of forests and is designed in such a way that anyone interested can easily participate using their own smartphone. To this end, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has developed an app that conveys forest knowledge and actively involves citizens in the detection and analysis of forest conditions. The first version of the "WaldKI" app can be tried out on Saturday from 1pm to 7pm.
If you want to take something home with you in addition to all the new knowledge, there is another highlight of the creative workshop. The Saxony-Anhalt Bear will be made on site in 3D from a print template to take home. Visitors can see how a digital bear is turned into a real object, for example a key ring or a larger model for demonstration purposes. To understand how this works, a presentation will show how digital 3D models are transformed into real components.

The researchers will come together there as part of the Science - and me?! project, a joint project of the Akademienunion, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Rectors' Conference and Wissenschaft im Dialog. Ten creative workshops on the banks of the Saale
A total of ten creative workshops are waiting to be discovered in Wachgasse. They take up the various subject areas of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and invite you to join in. How are new foods created? How is water turned into energy? How do landscape architects work? How can biotechnological processes be represented digitally? We will be exploring these and other questions on the banks of the Saale. We look forward to welcoming you on site.
