The annual challenge, aimed at inspiring school pupils to take an interest in logistics, reached its climax with the final on 13 November 2024. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences was involved in the organisation and was also represented on the judging panel to ensure the prize money totalling €5,000 was distributed fairly.
The prize money was provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs and divided among the finalist teams and their schools. The team from Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium in Magdeburg won by a narrow margin, followed by Freies Gymnasium in Gröningen (Rahn Education). A team from IGS Willy Brandt in Magdeburg came third.
As well as giving presentations on practical challenges set by Nahverkehrsservice Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH and the AGC Group in Sülzetal, the pupils had to solve a number of tricky tasks in order to bag the prize money.
Professor Trojahn from Anhalt University of Applied Sciences said: “It’s wonderful to see the enthusiasm with which the pupils tackle these logistical challenges. I look forward to seeing each and every one of them again at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, where they will be studying logistics or business administration.”
Next year, too, all schools in the country will have the opportunity to take part and compete for the prize money. The schools will be informed in due course.
