From July 10-12, over 30 MBA /MBU students ventured to the international melting pot of Amsterdam for an enriching International Management Workshop. Led by the program director Prof. Dr. Cornelia Scott, this three-day workshop offered students a unique opportunity to explore sustainability, innovation, interculturality, and digitalization in one of Europe's most vibrant cities.
The journey began with a visit to Plastic Whale, a local NGO focused on corporate social responsibility and cleaning up Amsterdam's canals. Students rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on CSR experience, enjoying both the educational aspect and the sunny weather. This activity not only proved great fun but also socially rewarding.
Thursday kicked off at NIO House, a brand-new electric vehicle showroom in the heart of Amsterdam. Students were treated to an impressive display of e-mobility innovation. We had the chance to meet with the Group Vice President of NIO, who greeted us in fluent German, shared valuable management insights into this exciting and innovative company.
The afternoon saw us diving into the world of Augmented Reality (AR) at the offices of Snap Inc. a leading social media company. Students gained agile insights and learned about AR technology. We will never lose a friend again after downloading Snap app!.
Early Friday morning – admittedly challenging after a night out in Amsterdam – the group headed to the Stadthuis Amsterdam, the heart of the city's public administration. Despite the early start, students were impressed by the agile and dedicated approach of the city's governance. The session provided numerous ideas for potential master's dissertations and offered a unique perspective on urban management.
This workshop provided MBA and MBU students with an amazing opportunity to step out of the classroom and dive into the corporate and administrative world. They applied their knowledge in real-world settings and networked with experts across various fields.
The program organizers expressed their gratitude to all who made this enriching experience possible.
