Open Day, Campus Festival and Dessau Design Show on Campus Dessau
It's finally time again: Campus Dessau is opening its doors! On July 11 and 12, 2025, Campus Dessau cordially invites all interested parties to take a look and join in. On July 11, the Campus Festival, the Open Day (Department of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation) and the Dessau Design Show (Department of Design) will take place on the entire campus. Selected current student works will be on display. There will also be insights into the creative processes, workshops and laboratories. There will also be hands-on activities. Culinary delights will be provided.
Open Day at Department 3, Friday from 1 to 6 pm
The Department of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation will open its doors from 1 p.m. and showcase students' work in various exhibitions, presentations and installations. There will also be lectures on the degree programs Architecture, Real Estate and Construction Management, Sustainable Urban Development and Surveying and Geoinformatics, hands-on activities and campus tours. In the Audimax, visitors can get excited about "Architecture on the smallest scale" and build miniature models of important buildings. The Saxony-Anhalt Chamber of Architects and architecture and surveying firms from the region will also be providing information on labs and career entry. Building 15 will feature exhibitions and open studios showing work in the field of design. Work on Monument Preservation Management is presented in the Expo Wurm.
It is the perfect opportunity to visit the university, its buildings, studios and workshops, including exhibitions, take in campus life and get into conversation.
Campus festival on Seminarplatz from 3 pm
The campus festival opens on Friday at 3 pm. Students will transform the campus from Seminarplatz to Bauhaus into a fun, games and party mile. International delicacies will be on offer. Live music, DJs and performances as well as workshops, events and sporting activities will provide entertainment. Guided tours of the campus will show the studios, laboratories and workshops and the libraries at the Bauhaus. On the company mile, visitors will have the opportunity to find out about dual degree programs, labs and career opportunities directly from numerous companies and talk to potential employers in person. Students and graduates from many countries around the world will celebrate the successful completion of their semester or degree and will attract numerous family members and friends to the city. The celebrations will feature chilled, rocking and danceable live music from student bands and DJs.
Dessau Design Show at the Department of Design Friday and Saturday:
The Dessau Design Schau showcases current project results and final projects from the bachelor's and master's degree programs on Friday from 1 to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition to exhibitions and presentations, a design store and tours of workshops and laboratories, there will be a variety of hands-on activities. Portfolio advice for prospective students will also be offered again. Students and lecturers from the Department are looking forward to presenting their results and working methods and exchanging ideas with interested parties.
Other institutions in the city of Dessau-Roßlau will be taking part in the events as neighbors and partners of Campus Dessau.
The Dean of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation, Professor Stephan Pinkau, and the Dean of Design, Professor Brigitte Hartwig, are delighted that the campus festival will also contribute to better networking between the neighboring institutions and to the development of a campus for design along the axis of the Bauhaus, the university and the Federal Environment Agency.
