From June 8 to 28, the “Stadtradeln” campaign took place again this year (2026); this year, for the first time, it was held in June (rather than in September as in the previous year) and thus during the lecture period. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences once again fielded a team, this time with a total of 67 active cyclists. From young to old, from the Board of Management to the students, many joined in the ride. In addition to promoting cycling, the focus was above all on physical activity and the enjoyment of cycling. This year, the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences cyclists covered a total of 9,385 km. This represents a threefold increase compared to the previous year and ultimately secured a fantastic 9th place in the overall rankings for Dessau-Roßlau! The 4th-semester students in the Bachelor’s degree program in Surveying and Geoinformatics won the small internal competition. They covered a total of 4,363 km on bike rides to the university, to the surveying field trip in Mosigkau, or for after-work rides in the Dessau-Roßlau area. Worth highlighting are the many positive aspects, such as camaraderie fostered by group bike rides—for example, at the Institute for Geoinformation and Surveying—as well as the university’s sense of connection to the city and region.
Despite periods of rain and sweltering heat, we covered many kilometers. We can build on this for the coming years. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, and here’s to another “City Cycling” campaign in 2027!
