Kick-off in Köthen: Opening of cargo bike station

  • © Hochschule Anhalt

This week, the moment finally arrived: at an official event in Köthen, the eCargo bike fleet was launched in collaboration with partners from the “Ready4Robots” project.

But the fleet can do more than just carry loads: all eCargo bikes are equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and collect valuable data on road conditions whilst in use. This data forms an important basis for the further development of autonomous mobility solutions – a key component of the “Ready4Robots” project.

It is particularly encouraging that, despite Köthen’s modest population (around 29,000), the eCargo bike-sharing scheme is already proving very popular – particularly among students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
