As part of the per ANHALTer lecture series at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Adrian spoke on the topic ‘Shaping new working environments with AI – where technology truly suits the task’. The event focused on ‘The Future of Work – new working environments through AI and digitalisation’.
The presentation centred on a key message: new working environments do not arise simply because companies introduce AI, but because tasks are re-designed in a way that sensibly redistributes them between people and technology. Rather than asking ‘Where can we use AI?’, the focus therefore shifted to a different perspective: which tasks should be supported by technology – and which technology actually suits that task? It is also crucial that technologies such as GenAI fit in with internal processes and are accepted by staff.
A particular highlight of the presentation was the sharing of initial thoughts and insights from a planned academic publication, which were subsequently discussed with the participants.
