Sustainable impact

Entrepreneurial Engagement for a Global Society

Our project aims to support the growth and development of entrepreneurial social ventures through:

  • Exchange and learning formats
  • Regional, national, and international networking
  • Collaboration for sustainability and greater impact

To foster the growth and development of social ventures in Saxony-Anhalt, a new project will launch in the summer semester of 2025 at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
Through expert-led exchange formats and cross-level networking – from local to global – the project aims to co-create innovative solutions for sustainability and impact, especially in areas such as biodiversity, the circular economy, and climate protection.

A core element of the project is the use of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL): interactive learning environments where students and enterprises collaborate across borders to link local challenges with global perspectives.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the European Social Fund Plus. It is based at the Department of Business under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Daniel Michelis. Project coordination is overseen by Dr. Stefan Hanke, with Dr. Carolyn Finck responsible for the development of learning and exchange formats. Christian Schlimok will provide academic research support through his doctoral studies, exploring how COIL can integrate sustainability and impact strategies to strengthen social entrepreneurship at the global level.

By the end of the three-year project period, key outcomes will be published in an open-access COIL Playbook – designed to empower social enterprises and advisors alike.
