Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your career to date?
I am originally from Iran and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Anhalt University. It’s been an exciting journey so far, and I've had the opportunity to grow both academically and professionally here in Germany.
How has the FITTER project helped you, especially in terms of language skills and career preparation?
The FITTER-Project was incredibly beneficial for me. By attending the B1 and B2 FITTER-German courses, I was able to significantly improve my German language skills, which has been crucial for integrating into everyday life and the professional environment here. Additionally, the project provided workshops that focused on career entry and how to prepare application documents effectively. These workshops equipped me with the tools I needed to confidently navigate the German job market.
How did you find the lab at Meditech Electronic GmbH in Hanover?
I actually found the internship on Stepstone, which is a popular job portal in Germany. After coming across the opportunity there, I applied and was fortunate enough to be invited for an interview. I also had the chance to visit the company in person, which allowed me to better understand their work and what would be expected of me.
What aspects of the application process did you find particularly challenging and how did you master them?
The application process was a bit daunting at first, particularly the interview stage, as I had to ensure my communication was clear and effective. However, the workshops provided by the FITTER-Project really helped prepare me for this. They offered insights into what employers are looking for and how to present myself professionally. The practice interviews we did were especially helpful.
As you prepare to start your lab, what are you most looking forward to in your role at Meditech?
I am really looking forward to applying my theoretical knowledge in a practical environment, especially in the areas of assembly, product development and quality assurance. It is a great opportunity to gain practical experience and learn from professionals in the field. Furthermore, it is exciting to do this in an international environment and improve my German language skills at the same time.

After your internship, you plan to write your Master’s thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS in Bremen. What are your aspirations for your thesis and future career?
Writing my Master’s thesis at Fraunhofer MEVIS is a fantastic opportunity to delve into research, which is something I’m passionate about. I hope to focus on a topic that bridges my interests in biomedical engineering and digital medicine. Looking further ahead, I aspire to work in a role that allows me to continue innovating and contributing to advancements in healthcare technology. Ultimately, I want to make a tangible difference in the medical field.
