16.11.26- 4-8 p.m.: The last aid course
Knowing how to do it at the end. This course is about the "small 1x1 of end-of-life care": caring for seriously ill and dying people at the end of their lives. the last aid course provides basic knowledge and orientation as well as simple hand movements. End-of-life care is not a science, but practiced humanity that is also possible in the family and neighborhood. We want to provide basic knowledge and encourage people to care for the dying. After all, care is what we all need most at the end of life.
In the course, we talk about the normality of dying as part of life, and of course we also address living wills and health care proxies. We discuss possible complaints that can be part of the dying process and how we can help to alleviate them. Finally, we consider together how we can say goodbye and discuss our options and limitations.
The course consists of four modules of 45 minutes each. It is facilitated by experienced and certified course leaders from the hospice and palliative care sector.
