First application for a scholarship

The application materials are available at the FTGZ.
The following additional attachments are required with the application:

1. A statement of purpose that addresses personal motivation, details relevant to the decision-making process, previous professional experience, prior academic achievements, any awards received, and other accomplishments. You should also describe any special personal circumstances that, despite posing limitations, have not prevented you from successfully pursuing your academic career to date (e.g., physical limitations, single parenthood, caring for family members). Any extracurricular or non-academic involvement should also be briefly described (e.g., volunteer work, civic, social, or (higher education) political engagement, or participation in associations or clubs). Please also describe any regional connection or previous ties you have had with Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
    
2. Application proposal submitted to the relevant doctoral center. This should include the research plan as well as details regarding the timeline and content.
    
3. The data collection form for the scholarship agreement, including the applicant’s personal information. This should include a brief tabular resume.
    
4. A statement confirming that the majority of the work will be conducted at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
    
5. Letter of acceptance from the relevant doctoral center.
    
6. Two letters of recommendation from university faculty members.
   These should provide information on the applicant’s academic qualifications and state the extent to which the dissertation project is expected to make a significant contribution to research (Section 2, Grade FG). The expert opinion may also address whether and to what extent the doctoral project relates to, first, fields with a particular need for young researchers; second, research priorities of the state or the university; and third, the state’s obligations under scientific cooperation programs with developing countries.
    
7. Proof of enrollment as a doctoral student at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
    
8. Certified copy of a university degree certificate. Foreign applicants must submit a certificate of equivalence along with a certified translation of their university degree certificate.
    
9. Civil status documents, to the extent required for the granting of additional allowances (marriage certificate, registered civil partnerships, children’s birth certificates).
    
10. Proof of income in accordance with § 5 (3) of the GradFVO: the scholarship recipient’s income and that of their spouse or registered partner, or documentation regarding other employment relationships indicating the duration and monthly hours of employment.
     
11. Approval from the Dean to pursue a doctorate in the relevant Department.

The scholarship may be awarded for a standard funding period of three years (Section 6(2) Grad FG). In exceptional cases, an extension of up to one year is possible pursuant to Section 6(2) Grad FG.
