First application for a scholarship

The application documents are available at the FTGZ.
Further attachments to the application are required:

  1. A letter of motivation that addresses personal motivation, details relevant to the decision, previous professional activities, previous academic achievements, any awards and other successes. Special personal circumstances should also be described, under whose restrictions the previous academic path was nevertheless successfully shaped (e.g. physical limitations, single parenthood, caring for relatives). Extracurricular or extracurricular activities should also be briefly explained (e.g. voluntary work, social, societal, (university) political involvement or participation in associations or clubs). Please also describe the regional connection or relationship to Anhalt University of Applied Sciences to date.
  2. Detailed work plan with justification for the choice of project. In addition to a description of the topic, the plan must also include a chronological and factual structure. Previous achievements of the applicant and any preliminary work must be clearly distinguishable from new work.
  3. The attachment to the data collection for the scholarship contract with personal details of the applicant. Including a short curriculum vitae in tabular form.
  4. Declaration that the main part of the work will be carried out at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
  5. Confirmation of acceptance as a doctoral candidate fromthe doctoral center of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
  6. Two reviews from university lecturers.
    They should provide information about the applicant's academic qualifications and the extent to which the dissertation project is expected to make an important contribution to research (§ 2 Grad FG). The expert opinion may also refer to whether and to what extent the doctoral project affects, firstly, subject areas with a particular need for young researchers, secondly, research priorities of the state or the university and, thirdly, obligations of the state from programs of scientific cooperation with developing countries.
  7. Proof of enrolment as a doctoral student at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
  8. University degree certificate in certified form. Foreign applicants must enclose a certificate of equivalence with the certified translation of their university certificate.
  9. Civil status certificates, if required for the granting of supplements (marriage certificate, registered civil partnerships, birth certificates of children).
  10. Proof of income in accordance with § 5 (3) GradFVO Income of the scholarship holder and that of his/her spouse or registered partner or documents on other employment relationships showing the period and monthly scope of employment.
  11. Approval ofthe Dean to carry out the doctorate at the relevant Department.

The scholarship can be granted for a standard funding period of three years (§6 para. 2 Grad FG). An extension of up to one year is possible in exceptional cases in accordance with Section 6 (2) Grad FG.
