The Department of Design at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences will once again be represented at the Leipzig Book Fair in 2026: for the 20th time. From March 18 to 22, it invites visitors to Hall 5, Stand B 501, to get to know student initiatives, gain insights into their work and, above all, to get into conversation with each other.
The stand itself is deliberately kept simple. White walls and a white floor form an open space that will gradually come to life during the days of the fair. Various student initiatives from the Department, including AG Kultur, AG Cloud, Weissraum, Mitte, Holzgarage and other groups, present their projects, ideas and activities here. They will show what is being created alongside their studies: self-organized spaces, events, experiments and collaborative projects.
Throughout the fair, students will also be inviting visitors to take part in screen and lino printing activities. Visitors can watch, take part or simply get into conversation. The resulting prints will be attached directly to the white walls. In this way, the stand changes visibly over the course of the days and grows a little further with every encounter. The presentation is complemented by video material that provides insights into the Department's projects, workshops and initiatives.
The stand is supervised by students from different semesters, who represent their initiatives themselves. They will talk about their projects, report on everyday student life and are looking forward to exchanging ideas, questions and new perspectives.
The stand sees itself less as a finished exhibition, but rather as an open place to show, ask questions, print, discuss and get to know each other. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is looking forward to welcoming many curious visitors who want to experience design together.
