Under the motto "Young, colorful and innovative", Anhalt University of Applied Sciences will be presenting a diverse hands-on program at Saxony-Anhalt Day in Bernburg's Wachgasse from 5 to 7 June 2026. Current research issues will also be presented. One of them revolves around hydrogen.
How is hydrogen actually produced from water? How can electricity be generated from it? And why is hydrogen considered one of the key technologies for a climate-neutral energy supply? In the "H2HUB " creative workshop, visitors can experience the future of energy. Here, hydrogen as an energy carrier of the energy transition is explained in an understandable way, clearly demonstrated and made tangible with numerous hands-on elements. These questions are not only answered, but can also be experienced directly in an experiment. A vivid electrolysis demonstration shows how water is broken down into its components. A fuel cell is then used to visualize how electrical energy is produced from hydrogen.
A special highlight is the regular launch of a hydrogen rocket, which makes the chemical reactions impressively visible. The offer is complemented by small hydrogen vehicles, interactive experiments and a quiz about energy, climate and future technologies.
In the background is Anhalt University's further education program, which, together with partners from science and research, aims to introduce specialists and managers to the hydrogen economy and provide a sound understanding of the technology. More information: www.hs-anhalt.de/h2hub
Ten creative workshops on the banks of the Saale
A total of ten creative workshops are waiting to be discovered in Wachgasse. They take up the various subject areas of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and invite you to join in. How are new foods created? How is water turned into energy? How do landscape architects work? How can biotechnological processes be represented digitally? We will be exploring these and other questions on the banks of the Saale. We look forward to welcoming you on site.
