Under the motto "Young, colorful and innovative", Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is presenting a diverse hands-on program at Saxony-Anhalt Day in Bernburg's Wachgasse from 5 to 7 June 2026. In the creative workshop "Computer Science with Taste", everything revolves around the creative combination of computer science, virtual reality and Biotechnology.

How is yogurt actually made? How are grapes turned into wine? Visitors to Saxony-Anhalt Day can experience and learn this digitally. With virtual reality glasses on their eyes, visitors can wander through a virtual house, make their own yoghurt in the kitchen of the "BioTech House" or create a fine drop of wine in the virtual wine cellar. Developed on an interdisciplinary basis and supervised by the working groups of Prof. Dr. Johannes Tümler and Prof. Dr. Jana Rödig, participants can experience the process from grape processing to bottling on a small industrial scale in "their" house, check their knowledge in a subsequent test and even receive a virtual reward.

After the digital experience, what they have learned becomes very real: the combination of technology and food production can also be experienced in terms of taste when tasting innovative "Caro bubble yoghurt".

The offer is complemented by the "Creative Computer Science" area run by Prof. Dr. Korinna Bade. Here, visitors can experience their first steps in programming, design creative mandalas to take home with them, try out computer games developed by students or be inspired by short films. An interactive AI quiz invites visitors to playfully test how good they are at recognizing AI-generated content.
