Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and Salzlandsparkasse are sending a strong message about securing a skilled workforce in the healthcare sector. On Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., both partners signed an agreement at the COI on the Alter Markt in Bernburg, under which Salzlandsparkasse will provide scholarships to five students enrolled in Anhalt University of Applied Sciences’ part-time healthcare programs.

“We are very pleased, as this support provides real relief for our students. It is particularly important that the funds are freely available and not tied to specific purposes. This allows scholarship recipients to decide for themselves how to use the support for their studies,” says University President Professor Jörg Bagdahn.

Starting in the upcoming 2026–27 winter semester, up to five students will receive a monthly stipend of 500 euros for the duration of their studies. Among those present at the signing ceremony were University President Prof. Dr. Jörg Bagdahn, the Head of the Executive Board Staff, Stefan König, and representatives from the participating degree programs.

Through this partnership, Salzlandsparkasse also aims to support individuals who are pursuing further academic qualifications while working, thereby ensuring they remain in the healthcare sector as urgently needed professionals.

Stefan König explained: “With this project, Salzlandsparkasse is supporting the healthcare sector in its business area and thereby ensuring long-term medical care for the region. This is in line with our mission statement: Fair, humane, reliable—valuable to the region.”

Anhalt University of Applied Sciences’ part-time degree programs include, among others, the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Nutrition Therapy, the bachelor’s degree program in Naturopathy, and the bachelor’s degree program in Physician Assistance. These programs are designed for individuals who wish to expand their career prospects in the healthcare sector and improve their opportunities for advancement.

Those who would still like to benefit from the monthly financial support can apply until September 15, 2026.
