Cooperation between practical companies and the university enriches everyday working life - in both directions. With a focus on expanding the dual study program, the Department of EMW is intensifying its cooperation with practice partners from the region and beyond. "Every cooperation company that we gain for our dual study programs also strengthens our Economics and practical relevance and offers students excellent opportunities for a practically sound course of study and an optimal career start," explains Professor Mohaupt, Dean of Academic Affairs at the EMW department. "Since this year, TÜV SÜD Auto Plus GmbH has also been one of our cooperating companies, which will work with us to train dual students on the bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering."
Prof. Günzel, Degree Program Advisor for the bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, is looking forward to the cooperation: "The practical training in our bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in automotive engineering is optimized by the close cooperation with TÜV Süd. Through this cooperation, we are promoting the next generation of engineers. At the same time, the collaboration between TÜV SÜD and our Mechanical Engineering cluster can stimulate technological innovation."
TÜV SÜD is also committed to the partnership. As a company that engages in very intensive networking, TÜV SÜD brought a partner get-together with around 20 companies from the region directly to the campus and into the lecture hall on March 26, 2025. On a tour of the Mechanical Engineering hall, Dr. Goedeke presented, among other things, the innovative practical project for the electric conversion of a Mercedes 190E, which he and Richard Täger are intensively supervising: Students are completely converting the classic car from a combustion engine to an electric drive as part of their course, including a digital twin, FEM analysis and chassis adaptation. This also impressed our partners from TÜV SÜD, as the project exemplifies the high practical level of mechanical engineering studies at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
After the tour, which included a CFD flow simulation created by research assistant Tom Scholz in addition to the production technology and vehicle technology, the partner get-together continued in the university's Audimax, where current topics from the network were discussed in presentations and discussions. Securing skilled workers is one of many common topics that concern both companies and the university.
"TÜV SÜD's first partner get-together at Campus Köthen was well worthwhile," says Dr. Goedeke. "Laboratory tours, exciting presentations and an intensive exchange over dinner together provided the perfect platform to strengthen our cooperation and think ahead." The dual study program will undoubtedly play a central role here. For (prospective) students, it is attractive not only financially, but also in terms of seamless transitions into the workplace. With TÜV SÜD as a practical partner, students can also gain insights into the work of test engineers during the practical phases and thus gain early access to the field of work of the test centers, where there is an increasing demand for motivated junior staff.
