The founding of an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed Diamond Open Access journal "Anhalt University Applied Scientific Reports" (^AUASRTM) was a logical next step for us. Despite our strong third-party funding position, academic reputation is not just a question of acquired funds, but also of visible scientific discourse, which we actively help to shape. With the journal, we are creating a platform that specifically communicates the quality and diversity of our research to the outside world and, at the same time, stimulates and deepens the academic work within the university through external impulses from articles submitted by researchers outside Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.

In addition, we increase our national and international profile by making research results visible, freely accessible and connectable. The Diamond Open approach underlines our commitment to openness and fairness in the publication system. The consistent publication language of English also signals the broad international character of the new journal.

One of our particular concerns is the promotion of young researchers: doctoral students and young researchers are given better, low-threshold opportunities to publish their work in a high-quality, quality-assured environment and to position themselves in the scientific community at an early stage.

In this way, the journal not only strengthens our institutional visibility, but also makes a sustainable contribution to the further development of research and scientific exchange.

The interdisciplinary orientation and the seven sections open up great opportunities for exchange between the departments and for new research questions across disciplinary boundaries. They make visible how diverse applied research is not only at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, but in today's research landscape in general, and at the same time strengthen the networking of science, practice and society.

The open, peer-reviewed publication format in particular creates a platform on which different perspectives are brought together and innovative topics become visible at an early stage. This promotes cooperation, increases international awareness and offers young scientists in particular attractive publication opportunities in a high-quality environment. With this in mind, we are currently also specifically approaching the approximately 250 universities with which we are closely associated worldwide to publish with us and are of course also looking forward to receiving as many contributions as possible from other universities in Germany and abroad.

Above all, we expect reviewers to demonstrate academic excellence, a broad range of expertise and a high degree of diligence in the review process. A fair, objective and constructive review process is important to us, as is the willingness to help authors with clear, helpful advice.

As the journal is interdisciplinary, openness to neighboring disciplines, methodological diversity and a view beyond one's own specialist horizon are particularly valuable. Equally important are reliability, scientific integrity and respectful treatment of the work submitted. We want reviewers who not only examine quality, but actively help to shape it. Those who get involved not only strengthen the journal, but also the visibility and future of research as a whole. My appeal: Join us and help shape this forum of scientific excellence from the very beginning!
