Tips for choosing a course of study
First-year students in Germany can choose from over 9,000 study programs. We have put together a few tips and links to help you choose the degree program of your choice.
Your own interests and preferences are important for a well-founded choice of studies in order to maintain motivation throughout the entire duration of your studies.
It is important to have knowledge of your own skills, as topics that are easier to grasp are also easier to learn, which leads to better exam preparation.
Prospective students often have a certain idea of degree programs and are disappointed when the content deviates from this. Applicants should therefore consult curricula and module description handbooks to compare their ideas with reality. A consultation with the Degree Program Advisor can also provide answers.
Future career prospects can also factor into the decision-making process, but keep in mind that labor markets change and can create entirely new opportunities.
