Three Main Areas of Research
According to the research map published by the German Rectors' Conference, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has three research priorities:
Doctoral Centers
Since May 2021, universities of applied sciences in Saxony-Anhalt have been able to independently guide their early career researchers toward a doctoral degree. Various doctoral centers have been established for this purpose. While some doctoral centers are located exclusively at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, others collaborate across institutions with partner universities in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. You can find all information about the doctoral centers and their areas of focus on the corresponding page.

Support and Recognition for Teaching
Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is not only a research institution but, first and foremost, a place of education. Here, lecturers pass on their knowledge of Economics and science to the students. Knowledge is not conveyed solely through lectures and seminars; work in workshops and laboratories is also an integral part of the educational experience. The role of the professors is to prepare students for a successful start to their careers.
Teaching Day
Once a year, on Teaching Day, the Teaching Award is presented. This award recognizes innovative and effective ideas that can serve as role models and sources of inspiration for others. The 2021 Teaching Award went to Prof. Arne Berger: watch the video to learn more.
Moodle
Faculty members at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences use Moodle to support their lectures and seminars online. If you’re new to Moodle, there’s a clear and comprehensive course that explains what Moodle has to offer.
