Information on studying
In terms of value, land, including real estate, represents the largest share of the national wealth of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Master's degree program Real Estate Valuation conveys the latest research and methods in real estate valuation. It enables students to critically classify scientific findings and to independently prepare expert opinions and consulting services in the field of Real Estate Evaluation. The focus is on developing a high level of problem-solving competence and social skills.
The normal program length is four semesters. It includes a practical module lasting a total of 12 weeks, as well as examinations and the Master's thesis.
Study objectives
The overall aim of the Master's degree program in Real Estate Valuation is to train experts in the field of real estate valuation. This involves not only theory- and research-based training, but also application-oriented training of real estate valuers who are able to think and act independently, methodically and analytically, as well as with an economic and technical orientation.
The study objectives are in detail
- to prepare students for a qualified professional activity,
- to enable students to recognize and independently solve known and new problems of all levels of difficulty in valuation,
- offer students the opportunity to make targeted contact with potential employers through compulsory work placements. Experience to date has shown that this facilitates a targeted, successful professional career,
- providing graduates with the professional, methodological and social skills that are essential for academic work in the field of Real Estate Evaluation and in professional practice,
- to have provided graduates with the key qualifications for a constantly changing professional field and to enable graduates to engage in lifelong learning and teamwork,
- lay the foundation for a doctorate.
Modules in the degree program
The degree program has a modular structure. A module is a content-related teaching and learning section that must be completed through assessed work or other verifiable coursework. In addition to the compulsory modules, elective modules with a certain number of credits must be completed. The individual modules and credits are described in the module description handbook.
