Course content and objectives
The objective of the bachelor’s program at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is practically conveying knowledge and skills for production and quality assurance of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics on a technical scale and operations including the application of process engineering. In particular, students are enabled to implement current requirements of natural science and engineering in the area of production and quality assurance and in developing medicinal products and cosmetics. Students learn to produce and assess medicine, to monitor whether production processes uphold legal requirements, and to plan, manage, and validate these. They can develop and operate technical plants and equipment for operations.
Graduates’ areas of professional activity are as broad as the program objective. They range from the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry to mechanical and plant engineering for these industries to engineering and planning agencies for pharmaceuticals. The key tasks of pharmaceutical engineers include galenic research and development of medicine and biotechnological diagnostics, quality assurance in production processes, quality control of products in the industrial production of medicine and cosmetics, and the design and construction of technical facilities.
