Wine workshop

Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Bernburg (Saale)

June 04, 2025
Start: 4 p.m., St. Nicolai Church
Breite Straße, Bernburg (Saale)

"Waladala" - A place for modern research

700 white and red vines, a new entrance area and an old, rebuilt natural stone wall: a lot has happened at the "Waladala" vineyard in the Waldau district in recent years. Wine lovers can see this for themselves. That's when Anhalt University of Applied Sciences invites you to a vineyard hike. Farmers, monks and students start together with all interested parties in front of the church of St. Nicolai in Breite Straße in Bernburg. Those who don't want to walk are in good hands on the people carrier.

The teaching and experimental vineyard of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is presented on "Waladala". The Bernburg Heritage Society will also be presenting its work to preserve the "Blue Bernburger". Enjoy the view against a special backdrop with wine and hearty food. A shuttle car takes hikers back to St. Nicolai Church.

For over four years, the Department of Agriculture, Ecotrophology and Landscape Development has been reactivating and transforming the former wild urban market garden into an innovative and sustainable educational and experimental vineyard with the support of the city. Following on from the wine-growing tradition of earlier centuries, the university aims to bring the topic of wine in Bernburg back to the attention of society and at the same time create opportunities for scientific research into viticulture. And the students also benefit from this: At the University of Applied Sciences, they are introduced to practical teaching and research right from the start of their studies.

Studying with interdisciplinary projects
Whether studying Agriculture, Ecotrophology, Landscape Architecture in Nature Conservation, Food Technology or Architecture and Design: the project offers students from various fields of study a wide range of opportunities to work in an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented way, individually or in groups.

All interested parties are cordially invited to take part.
