Background
Saxony-Anhalt is developing into an important center for hydrogen technologies in Germany, in particular through projects such as hydrogen production at the Bitterfeld-Wolfen Chemical Park and the use of wind energy for hydrogen production in Bad Lauchstädt with an H2-capable cavern or the Staßfurt energy region. With a comprehensive hydrogen strategy and strong partnerships, for example with the Fraunhofer Institute, the federal state is promoting the entire value chain from production to application. These initiatives offer significant economic benefits, create new jobs and support climate targets by reducing CO2 emissions.
