Life Sciences

At the Doctoral Center Life Sciences, researchers from Anhalt University’s Departments 1 - Agriculture, Ecotrophology and Landscape Development - and 7 - Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering - work in close cooperation across their respective fields. Here, the following academic degrees are awarded to early-stage scientists:

Doctor  of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) 

Doctor  of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.)

Being awarded the right to confer doctorates to universities of applied sciences (HAW) in Saxony-Anhalt in 2021 was a clear recognition of their exceptional research strength. Universities of applied sciences are within their rights to independently award doctoral degrees. At Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, the Doctoral Center Life Sciences is one of the centers assisting doctoral students on their way to the doctorate.

At the Doctoral Center Life Sciences, researchers from Anhalt University’s Departments 1 and 7 work in close cooperation across their respective fields. This is reflected in the Center’s professors and their natural sciences and engineering backgrounds.

You have a topic you wish to pursue?

You may have a life sciences’ research topic you would like to pursue as part of a dissertation? First, check with the supervising professors responsible for the research field. Contact the potential supervisor and make an appointment to discuss this further. 

If the requirements for the supervision of a doctorate are met, you may submit the application for acceptance as a doctoral student.  Send the completed application to Katja Czech (katja.czech(at)hs-anhalt.de), both by email and regular mail.
