Life Sciences: Prospective doctoral students

Welcome to the Doctoral Center Life Sciences

The Doctoral Center Life Sciences at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences offers young scientists the opportunity to obtain their doctorate in the fields of natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) or engineering (Dr.-Ing.).

The Center is characterized by interdisciplinary cooperation between the Departments of Agriculture, Ecotrophology and Landscape Development (Department 1) and Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering (Department 7) in the following future-oriented research areas:

  • Biological agents
  • Algae biotechnology
  • Food Technology
  • Agricultural sciences
  • Biodiversity
  • Sustainable land use

From the idea to the application for acceptance

  1. Do you have an idea for a doctoral project? Then find out about supervising professors in your research area further down on this page and request supervision.
  2. Once you have received a confirmation of supervision, please complete the necessary application documents and submit them digitally by email to Katja Czech(katja.czech@hs-anhalt.de). The documents must be submitted to Katja Czech at least 4 weeks before the doctoral committee meeting .

Enrollment for doctorate

Once you have been accepted into the Doctoral Center, you must register by submitting an application to the Student Service Center.

You can also enrol. Enrolment is voluntary and is also done by submitting an application to the Student Service Center and presenting the acceptance letter from the Doctoral Center. At the Köthen (Departments 5, 6 and 7) and Dessau (Departments 3 and 4) campuses, enrolment includes the Deutschland-Semesterticket.
