Our students stay in the region - a study
In cooperation with the Institute for Employment Research of the Federal Employment Agency, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences conducted a study that examined the entry into employment, the success of graduates on the labor market and their geographical mobility. Over a period of 25 university semesters from 2005 to 2017, they had around 20,600 former students analyzed. The results are promising: almost two thirds of all university graduates find a job that leads to a medium income within a very short period of time. And not in economically strong centers such as Berlin, Hamburg or Munich: Many alumni remain close to the university. The districts of Dessau-Roßlau and Anhalt-Bitterfeld as well as Magdeburg, Halle and the Salzlandkreis are particularly attractive.
The study was also able to examine migration movements. This showed that 80 percent of students from Saxony-Anhalt at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences who had initially taken up employment in another federal state returned to Saxony-Anhalt during the study period.
