Dessau Design Show, Open House, Campus Festival at the Campus Dessau
It’s finally that time again: The Campus Dessau is opening its doors! On Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, 2026, we cordially invite everyone interested to come see and join in the fun.
On July 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences campus will host the Campus Festival, the Open House for Department 3 (Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation), and the Dessau Design Show organized by Department 4 (Design).
Current student work from all degree programs at the Dessau campus will be on display. In addition, visitors will gain insights into workshops and labs, participate in hands-on activities, and enjoy culinary delights. On Friday, there will even be a scavenger hunt across campus, with a prize for the winner.
Open House at Department 3, Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Department of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation will showcase student work through various exhibitions, presentations, and installations. The event will also feature informative lectures on the degree programs in Architecture, Real Estate and Construction Management, Sustainable Urban Development, Sustainable Management of Built Environment, Surveying and Geoinformatics, as well as campus tours. Concrete canoes created as part of a project will be on display in front of Building 05. International students will enrich the program with the Creativmarkt on Bauhausstraße. In Building 08, visitors can view current architectural designs, marvel at “Architecture on the Smallest Scale,” build miniature models of notable buildings, take a break at “Café 10/23,” and watch the students go about their business. In addition, the Saxony-Anhalt Chamber of Architects will provide information on internships and career entry. The “Expo-Wurm” (Building E - Dessau) will showcase work on Monument Preservation Management. The Design Department invites visitors to Building 15 for drawing exhibitions.
The Open House offers a unique opportunity to tour the university, its buildings, studios, and workshops—including the exhibitions—to experience campus life firsthand, and to talk with instructors and students.
Campus Festival at Seminarplatz on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Campus Festival opens on Friday at 1:00 p.m. The campus, stretching from Seminarplatz to Bauhaus (Building 10 - Dessau), will be transformed into a hub of information, fun, and celebration. Live music, DJs, workshops, events, and activities will provide entertainment. Guided tours of the campus will showcase the studios, labs, and workshops. There will be plenty of food and drink available. Students and graduates from many countries around the world will be celebrating the successful completion of their semester or degree, attracting numerous family members and friends to the city. The festivities will feature laid-back, rock, and danceable music from student bands and DJs.
Dessau Design Show at the Department of Design on Friday and Saturday:
The Dessau Design Show will showcase current project results and final projects from the bachelor’s degree programs and master's degree programs on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In addition to exhibitions and presentations, a design shop, and tours of workshops and labs, there will be a variety of hands-on activities. Portfolio consultations for prospective students will also be offered again. Students and lecturers from the Department of Design look forward to presenting their work and methods and engaging in conversation with interested visitors.
The Dean of the Department of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation, Professor Vesta Nele Zareh, and the Dean of the Department of Design, Professor Brigitte Hartwig, extend a warm invitation on behalf of everyone involved.
