Anhalt University of Applied Sciences with several innovative topics on the Science & Pioneering campus
Anuga Food Tec is the international trade fair for the food and beverage processing industry. Cross-industry and process-oriented, it covers all important aspects - from production to packaging, storage and distribution. It will take place from March 19-22, 2024 and is one of the most important summits in the industry. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences will be represented on the Science & Pioneering Campus in Hall 5.2 Aisle B No. 100.
Problem
The inner wall roughness of the throughput channels of perforated disks in grinding machines, which are used, for example, in the food industry for grinding meat raw materials, has a significant influence on the throughput and cutting quality. At present, this fact is not taken into account in Economics or science.
Objective
The design of through-holes with defined inner wall roughness (e.g. the same roughness throughout or different roughnesses from the inlet to the outlet) is intended to reduce energy consumption by 20%, increase throughput by 20%, increase the service life of the perforated disks by 50% and improve the cut quality of the minced raw materials and consequently the end product quality. As it is essential to maintain the inner wall roughness for as long as possible during industrial use, initial concepts for suitable smoothing processes and methods for generating the desired roughness are also to be developed.
