I am Thuringian
born in Jena in 1961. There I became interested in nature and literature, was a soccer fan of FC Carl-Zeiss and graduated from high schoolin 1980 at .
I was born with an interest in chemistry, my father surrounded me with chemistry books and I carried out my first small experiments with his help.
Studies in Halle/S.
From 1982, I also began studying chemistry at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, followed bya doctorate at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg from 1987-1991 on the topic: "Synthesis and properties of medio- and macroheterocycles with cis-but-2-ene building blocks". During this time, I was fascinated by the unimagined possibilities of the self-organization of molecules, i.e. supramolecular chemistry.
My professional development began in 1991
My first major field of work at that time was the development of chemical sensors for process analysis. From 1991-1997, I worked as a research assistant in the analytical department of BUNA AG Schkopau, the last 3 years of which as a research assistant at the Institute for Automation and Communication (ifak) Magdeburg-Barleben. After a short period of unemployment, I became project coordinator at the Institute for Process Measurement Technology/Electronics at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg from 1998-1999 . During this time, I applied for a deputy professorship in Magdeburg.
I have been a university lecturer since 2000,
from 2000-2001 initially as a deputy professor of physical chemistry at Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences; Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering, from 2001-2005
Professor of Physical Chemistry at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences (FH) and
since 2006 Professor of Physical Chemistry at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in the Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering Department (Department 7)
Responsibilities in the Department and University (including)
2010-2014 as Vice-Dean of Department 7, 2014-2018 as Dean of Department 7
2018-2022 Senator of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences
2018-2022 Deputy Director of the An-Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology
since 2023 Member of the University's Ethics Council
Functions and memberships during this time (among others)
since 1991: GDCh member(from 2009: GeCat member)

2010-2014 : Member of Flying Faculty of the German-Jordanian University (GJU) in Amman
2011-2015: Research Advisory Board of the Association Applied Photocatalysis
I have lived in the countryside since 2016
