Library on site
The library of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is represented at three locations in Köthen, Bernburg and Dessau. The on-site libraries offer an extensive collection of media and literature that can be viewed and borrowed on site. The library team provides support with questions and problems relating to library use and our services.
Our inventory
Most of our print media are located in the reading rooms of the libraries and are arranged according to subject group and shelfmark. Certain items are marked "Reading room". Literature with this indication is not available for loan, but can be used freely in the library rooms for academic work and research. All other media can be borrowed from the counter or the self-checkout system.
In the Bernburg site library, the SR 1558, SR 1610, SR 1614 and SR 1632 series are freely accessible in the reading rooms. The other series are located in the closed stacks. If you are interested, the team on site will be happy to help.

As a rule, newspapers and magazines from the library collection cannot be borrowed. The current year is freely accessible in the journal areas, while older volumes are available on request at the counter. A scanner is available at each location to digitize articles and essays.
Journals with online access are marked with a barcode and lead directly to the full text.
The digital reading circle - sharemagazines - is also available on the library premises.
Digitally licensed and open access journals can be accessed via the Electronic Journals Library.
Printed dissertations, master's, bachelor's and diploma theses can be requested from the library team. For theses on data carriers, we offer external drives (available for a deposit at the counters).
Theses published online can be viewed via Share_It.
Within the campus network, there is online access to various specialist databases with more than 43,000 e-books and 61,000 journal titles.
Remote access is required for external access to the digital services.
Do you have any questions or problems?
Loose-leaf editions are freely accessible in the open access areas of the library, but cannot be borrowed. They can only be used in the library rooms.

Guided tours and training courses
A guided tour of the libraries offers the opportunity to find out about the collections and services. The libraries can be visited on request to get an overview of the services on offer.
We provide information and research skills in classroom training or online courses, especially for students and staff.
The topics range from research in our literature search engine to specialist databases, writing advice and the use of literature management programs.

A wide range of study workstations are available on our premises. There are both individual and group workstations, some of which are equipped with and some without PCs and are located in different areas of the on-site library.
Book nowBorrow instead of buy! The Library of Things offers a selection of technology (charging cables, keyboard, mouse, hubs, etc.) and office materials at three locations, which can be borrowed for a week and used directly in the library or at home. This offer is part of the sustainability and shareconomy efforts.

You can print in black and white free of charge at all locations if you bring your own paper.
Printing is possible from a USB stick or from the Internet.
Copyright regulations must be observed when printing. Our library team will be happy to answer any questions on site!
Members of the student body can print, scan, and copy for free at certain printers.
To do so, they need a PIN, which students have received via email. Documents can be emailed from your student mailbox to iprint@hs-anhalt.de and then printed and picked up at the printer after entering your PIN.
Sustainability is important to us. That’s why we ask that you print responsibly and, whenever possible, print double-sided.
This helps us conserve our resources sustainably and reduce paper waste.

It is possible to bind documents at Campus Köthen. Binding spines and cover sheets can be requested from the library staff. DIN A4 and DIN A5 formats can be bound.
