Moving to a new country is always challenging. For me, adapting to a different academic and cultural environment was the first hurdle. Navigating daily life, understanding academic expectations, and building connections.
But with the help of my professors, peers, and the local community, I gradually overcame these challenges.
I studied at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Odesa Polytechnic University." My academic journey to Germany began when I came for spring school at Anhalt University, where I got acquainted with possible future courses of study here. I liked the Professors, their progressive style and their approach to teaching. So I decided to come back here and enroll in a Master of Softwarelokalisierung Program.
With a Bachelor's degree in Philology, focusing on English and German, I had some good background in speaking German. The supportive atmosphere at Hochschule Anhalt and its intensive German courses with locals helped me to improve my language skills and integrate easily into German society.
My current project at Anhalt University is aligned with my desire to contribute to Ukraine's reconstruction. My project aims to develop a web platform to connect returning military personnel with rehabilitation centers and resources, making the transition to civilian life smoother.
For students in Ukraine considering studying abroad, I recommend embracing it as a chance to broaden their horizons. Studying in another country enriches you not only academically but also culturally, opening up new opportunities and perspectives that can significantly impact your future.
What fascinates me most about Germany is the balance between tradition and innovation. The German way of life is both cozy and future-oriented.
