Junior Engineer Academy
The Deutsche Telekom Foundation initiated the Junior Engineer Academy in 2003 and since then has provided targeted support to schools to initiate student projects on the topics of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (STEM).
Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has already been a practice partner of Paul-Gerhardt-Gymnasium Gräfenhainichen, Elisabeth-Gymnasium Halle (Saale), Gymnasium Südstadt Halle (Saale) and Gymnasium Landsberg for several years. Several times a year, the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering welcome students to their laboratories and workshops.
In 2018, Gymnasium Philanthropinum in Dessau expanded the existing cooperation agreement with Anhalt University of Applied Sciences to include joint activities as part of the Junior Engineer Academy. The agreement forms the basis of an expanded cooperation with Campus Köthen in the STEM subjects to give 8th and 9th grade students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences their first insights into the research world of technical and engineering degree programs.
