Exam withdrawal
You can withdraw from a registered exam without a reason until five days before the exam. You can withdraw online in the Student Portal under the menu point “Prüfungsverwaltung” (exam management).
Illness
If the 5-day deadline has passed but you become ill and cannot take the exam or have to leave the exam once you have started, then you must immediately inform the Examinations Office (at the latest on the 3rd business day after the exam date) in writing with documentation.
You will need to submit the following documents to the Examinations Office:
- Form: "Withdrawing from a registered exam" and
- a medical certificate.
Please note: Despite the introduction of the electronic certificate of incapacity for work (elektronische Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung, eAU) students covered by statutory health insurance in Germany still need to submit a hard copy of the certificate.
