Anhalt University of Applied Sciences participates in the Germany-wide DEAL Konsortium. On behalf of the Alliance of German Science Organizations, the DEAL project negotiates nationwide licensing agreements with the major scientific publishers in order to shape the open access transformation in the scientific publishing system. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has been participating in the DEAL contract with the publisher Wiley since 2019, in the contract with Springer Nature since 2020 and with the publisher Elsevier from 01.01.2024.
The university also participates in the following transformation contracts (publish-and-read contracts) Plos, Taylor & Francis, ACM, De Gruyter and MDPI.

In addition to free access to scientific publications from participating publishers, there is also the possibility of Open Access publication in renowned journals following a peer review process.

From 2022 to 2025, the German Research Foundation (DFG) provided funding to Anhalt University of Applied Sciences for open access publications. Beyond the funding period, there is also an open access publication fund through which publications in purely open access formats can be subsidised.
