Find Information

The provision of qualified specialist literature forms the basis for successful work in study, research and teaching. We will gladly support you in your search as well as in the acquisition of information.

We recommend our Discovery-Service as a universal search entry point. You use it to search scientific sources inside and outside our library holdings.

For a search within our library holdings, our Online Catalogue (OPAC) is still available.

For an in-depth look at services and research options in the library, check out our new regular event series. Click here to register!

Important research tools

  • Literature Search Engine

Our Discovery-Service allows searching various sources of our holdings, scientific and other accessible databases worldwide. In terms of content, the literature search engine combines the printed library holdings, licensed eBooks and eJournals, many licensed subject databases, and open access publications. Use the faceting options to personalize the number of results.

Printed media are arranged on the shelves according to subject group (notation) and call number. They can be borrowed unless they are marked as reference holdings. If a work is located elsewhere, we will be happy to obtain it for you!

  • Catalogues

    OPAC

The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) lists the library's entire holdings.
The "advanced search" allows the entry of several criteria and keywords as well as the limitation of the media type. Printed media are listed on the shelves according to subject group (notation) and shelfmark and can be borrowed unless they are marked as reference holdings.
If a work is located elsewhere, we will be happy to obtain it for you!

How do I find...

  • ... General Information?

To approach a topic for the first time, it is a good idea to research it in an encyclopedia or other non-diverse sources of information. For example, use the Gabler Wirtschaftslexikon or one of our printed or electronic works. You will get not only a thematic overview and new keywords, but also further information that will help you to continue and concretize your research in specialized media.

You can use this tutorial for a quick overview on how to research in our Discovery-System!
